Today, McDonald’s updated its United States Happy Meals website to the latest toy giveaway, Super Mario-themed toys. The Mario promotion, which coincides with the release of the new Mario Kart 8 Deluxe game, runs through May 22.

With the update, the Happy Meals site also began previewing its next set of toys: Ty Teenie Beanie Boos. The “Next Happy Meal” graphic, shown above, displays 15 characters, many of which are unique in that they are not based on existing regular-sized Beanie Boos. The animals include a bull, elephant, giraffe, husky, koala bear, penguin, polar bear, leopard, lion, monkey, moose, rhinoceros, seal, walrus and white tiger. Given that the Mario toy promotion ends on the 22nd, it seems reasonable to assume that the Teenie Beanie Boos promotion will begin in McDonald’s nationwide on May 23.

Australian “up next” announcement

Additionally, the Australian Happy Meals website has also updated its website, revealing that McDonald’s stores down-under will have eight of the Teenie Beanie Boos alongside Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles toys next month.

This spring marks the 20th anniversary since Ty Teenie Beanie Babies first hit McDonald’s Happy Meals. Read more about the first Teenie Beanies at this article at TyCollector.com. Teenie Beanies were last at McDonald’s in the summer of 2014 to celebrate the 35th anniversary of the Happy Meal.

One week in

It’s officially been a week since the Teenie Beanie Boos arrived at McDonald’s. I only need 3 more to complete my collection: the green Coconut and both Myrtles.

How is your collection doing? Comment below!

In-hand photos and more

7.5-ollieThe sleuths at TyCollector.com have managed to scoop up all 16 Teenie Beanie Boos. They’ve posted photos of each Teenie Boo on their website: click here to take a look.

Additionally, they have also begun documenting the various in-store signage. Click here to see it.

As for me, I’m still sitting at only 6 of the 16 Teenie Boos. The hunt continues!

Surprise coupons

I was pleasantly surprised to find that, in addition to the checklist, some of the Teenie Beanie Boos are coming with a coupon inside they toy bags. The coupon for $1 off any purchase of $4.99 ore more is two-sided: one side has a promo code to order online from the Ty Store, while the reverse has a bar code for purchases at Ty retailers. Both coupons are good for any Ty product through September 30, 2014.

Keep a lookout; there may be more than a toy inside your Happy Meal!

Happy Meal boxes

For those interested, below are photos of the Happy Meal box for the Teenie Beanie/Mario Kart toy giveaways. However, it has been my experience so far that McDonald’s stores will allow customers to purchase toys without a Happy Meal.

Scan your Boos for more fun

Don’t forget that you can get even more enjoyment out of your Teenie Beanie Boos by downloading the FREE McPlay app from the App Store for iPhone and iPad and Google Play for Android devices.

The Happy Meal website has a great instructional video on how to use the app with your Teenie Boos. Watch it here:

It looks like the McPlay developers have created some really cute cartoon versions of the Boos. This video shows Peanut bouncing around. I can’t wait to see what everyone else looks like!

All 16 Boos shown in McDonald’s videos

Late last night, McDonald’s updated its Happy Meal website with new videos for the Teenie Beanie Boo/Mario Kart toy giveaways. Among the videos were in-hand clips of all 16 Boos — both color variations of the 8 characters.

This is the first time we’ve had a glimpse of the second color version for any of the Boos. I edited all the clips down to a single video for your convenience. Take a look:

I’m super excited for the purple Myrtle with the green shell! Which color combos are you most surprised by?
